Howie Mandel rushed to hospital

TORONTO -- "Deal or No Deal" host Howie Mandel was rushed to a Toronto hospital Monday night with an apparent irregular heartbeat and is expected to released Tuesday.

"He did not have a heart attack," Mandel spokesman Lewis Kay said in an e-mail.

Toronto-born Mandel, 53, is expected to be back at work Tuesday shooting an episode of "Howie Do It," a hidden camera prank show that debuted on NBC on Friday night.

Toronto police said paramedics rushed to the downtown Sheraton Center Hotel on Monday night to respond to Mandel, who remained conscious and talking as he was transported to St. Michael's Hospital.

The made-in-Canada "Howie Do It" series is a co-venture between NBC and Global Television.
