"Evolution of Dance 2" debuts on www.EOD2.com YouTube; launches dance contest at www.ibeatyou.com .
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Judson Laipply, the creator and star of "Evolution of Dance"--YouTube's most-watched viral video with more than 109 million hits--debuted his much-anticipated sequel today, "Evolution of Dance 2!"
At 5 a.m. PST this morning, EOD2 went live on YouTube and on dedicated microsite www.EOD2.com, which also offers users the chance to dance with Judson in an Evolution of Dance branded application and to participate in a sweepstakes that offers a Smart Car as the grand prize.
EOD2 captures Laipply's comedic dance moves in a medley spanning classics like James Brown's "I Got You (I Feel Good)" to contemporary hits like Fergie's "London Bridge." Like the 2006 original, the video was taped in front of a live audience during an appearance at Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio.
"So many people asked me to make EOD2, but I didn't right away because I wasn't sure how to top the original," said Laipply. "It took the right partners in Saveology.com and PeopleJam and the right songs and dances to make it work! I'm proud of EOD2 and hope that people have fun watching it."
Laipply partnered with comparison-shopping portal Saveology.com(TM) as the lead sponsor and self-improvement website PeopleJam.com to put together a comprehensive program that enables consumers to experience and interact with Evolution of Dance 2 in multiple ways.
"We're excited to be a part of pop culture and Internet history. Partnering with Judson is a great way for people to learn about Saveology.com and how we're evolving the way they shop and save on essential services for their home and life," said Saveology.com CEO Benny Aboud.
"Evolution of Dance is a true Internet phenomenon. EOD2 and the entire program around this one-of-a-kind franchise will put a smile on the faces of millions of people, starting with the massive fan base that made the original video such a success. We are proud to be working with Judson and Saveology.com to help people get their lives off to a good start in 2009," said PeopleJam CEO and Founder Matt Edelman.
Also launching today on www.ibeatyou.com is "The Evolution of Dance-Off" where fans can compete for a $5,000 prize by uploading their own Evolution of Dance videos. Meantime, at www.EOD2.com, fans can upload their photos and co-star with Laipply in "Evolution of You," an interactive application that they can share with friends.
