Toss India chose to field v Sri Lanka
Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details

MS Dhoni put Sri Lanka in on a pitch that traditionally helps seamers early on. Void of grass, the moisture on the track promised assistance for the faster men early on.

India went into the match without the injured Virender Sehwag, who was replaced by Rohit Sharma. Sehwag's absence also resulted in an interesting opening combination for India: Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir, who was rested in the last ODI against England.

To cash in on the conditions, India went in with three fast bowlers - Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Munaf Patel - and the lone spinner in Pragyan Ojha.

India looked to have a go at what has been the weaker aspect of the Sri Lankan game of late, the batting. Apart from Tillakaratne Dilshan, who made a transition from middle order to opening, not many of their batsmen have been in good form, which explains the scratchy wins in Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. However, the hosts opted for the same XI that thrashed Pakistan by 234 runs in Lahore to win the series 2-1.

India 1 Sachin Tendulkar, 2 Gautam Gambhir, 3 Suresh Raina, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Rohit Sharma, 6 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt./wk), 7 Yusuf Pathan, 8 Pragyan Ojha, 9 Zaheer Khan, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Munaf Patel.

Sri Lanka 1 Sanath Jayasuriya, 2 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 3 Kumar Sangakkara (wk), 4 Mahela Jayawardene (capt.), 5 Thilina Kandamby, 6 Chamara Kapugedera, 7 Thilan Thushara, 8 Farveez Maharoof, 9 Nuwan Kulasekara, 10 Muttiah Muralitharan, 11 Ajantha Mendis
