Lyrics:

I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around

Oh baby When I see your face
Mellow as the month of May
Oh darling I cant stand it
When you look at me that way

I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around

Oh darling When you're near me
And you tenderly call my name
I know that, My emotions
Are something I just cant tame
Ive just got to have you baby

I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down

I just lose control
Down to my very soul
I get hot and cold all over

I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
tumbling down, tumbling down...

Gaultier’s 51-Year-Old Runway Star: Inès de la Fressange

Your Ad Here

As always, this week’s Paris couture shows have been the stomping ground for stick-thin models with high cheek bones and clenched jaws.

But Jean-Paul Gaultier is not one to abide by rules. Despite the presence of singers Kanye West and Kylie Minogue, it was the former French supermodel Inès de la Fressange who stole the show.

As the voluptuous 51-year-old strutted down the runway, the crowd cheered this one-time French queen of the catwalk. Clearly moved, she turned to wave at old friends and slipped off a cream jacket in front of the cameras.

Mr. Gaultier, also caught up in the moment, chased the former supermodel down the runway and practically wrestled her to the ground during the final moments of the show catching her just before she fell.

Fashion models “are not just 14-year-olds,” Mr. Gaultier said later. “There are no [age] barriers to beauty.” The French designer explained that the curvy Ms. de la Fressange embodied the sexuality demanded his raunchy Spanish themed show, which also featured high-waisted pinstripe pants for women, suspenders and elbow-length gloves.

Ms. de la Fressange in the 1980s was the first model to sign an exclusive modeling contract with a haute couture fashion house — Chanel — and then went on to represent France’s symbol of femininity, Marianne. She described how she felt nervous backstage with the other models, “surrounded by all those sexy little things.”

Despite the warm reception from the crowd, she said her return to the catwalk was a one-off. “For me it was like a Sunday,” she said batting her eyelids. “This is not my job anymore.”

Infosys puts 5000 employees under scanner - Layoff rumours shocking Infosian’s

Your Ad Here

The economic crisis seems to be deepening and with it the layoff count. The latest round of bad news comes from India's second larges
t IT services provider, Infosys, who till now claimed to have stayed away from layoffs.

According to reports, the company has put at least 5,000 employees or 5 per cent of its total global workforce under the performance scanner. Media reports also suggest that the company has asked senior managers (project managers, senior and group project managers, delivery managers) to give lowest performance rating (4 on a scale of 1-4) to the 'underperforming' 5 per cent as a part of its consolidated relative ranking (CRR).

Incidentally, while lowest rankings are not new in the company, this is the first time that Infosys has made it compulsory.

Some 40-50 sales executives have also been reportedly asked to quit in the last two months. Most of these were located in the US and were from consulting background who are in a client-facing role.

The company, however, claims it to be a usual process. Its Group HR head said that there was no change in the policy, and the percentage of employees who are ranked four in the scale varies every year between one percent to five percent.

The official said that the company has decided to implement a six-month mentoring programme for these employees after which it will decide their future based on the improvements they have made. As a part of this programme, each affected employee will be asked to work under the supervision of a mentor who is a senior executive.

During this period, the employee will not be given any important assignment, though he will be allowed to work on his present project. If the concerned employee is on bench, he will give all his time for the mentoring programme.

Last year, Infosys' rivals TCS, Wipro and Satyam too axed a sizeable number of jobs terming them `performance-based'.

LIC to invest Rs 17,000 cr in market this quarter

Your Ad Here

MUMBAI: LIFE Insurance Corporation (LIC), India’s largest institutional investor, will invest Rs 17,000 crore in the equity market during the January-March 2009 period, LIC managing director Thomas Mathew T told ET.

The life insurance major is targeting investments worth Rs 40,000 crore into equities in the current financial year. “We are a long-term investor and will be active in the equity market, staying well within the investment guidelines prescribed by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA). We will optimise investor returns. We have also seen a huge growth in demand for corporate loans, and accordingly, our corporate loan disbursements have doubled,” he added.

During the April-December 2009 period, LIC had disbursed over Rs 30,000 crore as corporate loans and the corporation expects the momentum to continue during the current quarter, a top LIC executive said.

With banks adopting a conservative approach on corporate lending, despite several attempts by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to ease liquidity situation, many corporates have chosen to seek funding from LIC to meet their fund requirements. Tata Group and Reliance Industries, for instance, are in the process of raising funds from LIC through the non-convertible debenture (NCD) route.

LIC’s investment portfolio is worth around Rs 8,06,000 crore. As per IRDA guidelines, the institution has to invest 50% of the investible funds in government securities, 15% in infrastructure while the balance 35% can be invested in equities, corporate loans, mutual funds, fixed deposits and commercial papers. The corporation, during the current
financial year, has infused around 15,000 crore into mutual funds, which is around a three-fold increase in its investment in the segment over the previous year.

This, according to the public sector insurer, has come in as a huge respite for the cash-strapped mutual fund house that was reeling under redemption pressure, as the global financial crisis caused local stock market to crash.

India's Yuki top seed in juniors at Australian Open

Your Ad Here

India's Yuki Bhambri has been top seeded in the juniors singles at the Australian Open, clearly marking him down as a player to watch out.

Yuki has made waves on the circuit after his semi-final appearance in the previous edition at Melbourne Park and he is a player on the upward curve, rising to become the World No. 2.

He certainly does not lack the self-motivation and determination to do well when he opens against German Sanchez Delfin of Mexico as the juniors events get underway on Sunday.

The 16-year-old Indian knows a bit of Delfin, who is also from the Nick Bollettieri Academy which has been the training base of Yuki.

The Delhi youngster, who won the prestigious Osaka Mayor Cup and then the highly rated Orange Bowl Tennis Championship last season, said he is looking forward to taking on Delfin.

"I am well aware of German's game. We have hit with each other a lot at the Bollettieri. He is a very good baseliner and has a good first-serve percentage. I will have to be aggressive against him," Yuki told IANS.

Yuki, though, did not have the ideal tune-up as he lost in the first round to eventual runner-up Justin Eleveld of the Netherlands in the Optus Nottinghill International.

"It was my first event here, so it took me some time to settle down. The conditions here are quite windy and I am trying to acclimatise."

After last year's thrilling experience, Yuki has worked hard for this year's event and hopes to claim his maiden junior Grand Slam title.

"Every player in the top-50 is good and has the potential to beat anyone. But I will try and give my best in all the Grand Slams this year. I am hoping to win one this year."

Yuki said his stint at the Bollettieri Centre has helped him improve his game.

Sania and Bhupathi, runner-up of the previous edition, were a set down against Canadian pair Aleksandra Wozniak and Daniel Nestor but rallied to win 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.

In the boys juniors, top-seed Yuki Bhambri swept aside 13th seed Croatian Dino Marcan, 6-3, 6-1.

Paes and Dlouhy won the first set breaking the Italians twice.

Roddick admits he's still not in top group | More Tennis news

The second set saw no break of serve from either pair before Paes and Dlouhy prevailed over the tie-break to win in little over an hour.

They are likely to meet second-seeded Bryan brothers Bob and Mike, who will play fellow Americans John Isner and Mardy Fish in the quarter-final.

Bhupathi and Sania, who were broken twice in the first set, came back to draw level with three break of serve before wrapping up the match in one hour and 15 minutes.

They next play Czech pair Iveta Benesova and Dlouhy, who received a walkover from French Alize Cornet and Brazilian Marcelo Melo.

In the boys singles, Yuki stamped his authority over Marcan, breaking him seven times to win in 78 minutes. He next plays German Richard Becker, who overcame a stiff challenge from Japanese Yasutaka Uchiyama to beat him 6-7(8), 6-4, 6-3.
