6 Years ago, 14 years old Elizabeth Smart was in the dreams of people all over the world heard of the story. Elizabeth was abducted at Knifepoint from the bedroom in suburban Salt Lake City on 5 June 2002. The younger sister Mary Katherine could only watch, paralyzed with terror. For nine months, Elizabeth was imprisoned by the alleged kidnappers, a pointless and self-proclaimed prophet Brian David Mitchell and his wife, Wanda Barzee. Prosecutors say they kept Elizabeth tied to a tree just three and a half miles from home.

Four months after the disappearance of her sister, the 10-year-old Mary Katherine miraculously remembered that a man once hired to work at home smarts resembled the man who took Elizabeth. A sketch was released, and on 12 March 2003, Mitchell, Barzee and Elizabeth were spotted on the street in Salt Lake City. Elizabeth was rescued and go home alive.

Mitchell and Barzee were charged with kidnapping and assault, but found incompetent to stand trial. They are currently in a mental institution.
